Dagger Forst Tools
Dagger Forst Tools (DFTL) was incorporated by Ashok Birla in the year 1965 as a pioneer broach manufacturing company. It is now a part of the Yashovardhan Birla Group.
The company manufactures a full range of custom made gear cutting tools, broaches, hobs, shaper cutters, shaving cutters (gear cutting tools) and spline gauges, mainly used by the automobile, defense, power and aerospace sectors.
DFTL has a manufacturing plant in Aurangabad. This manufacturing unit was set up in collaboration with W. Forst, England. It was set up to manufacture gauges within the same industrial area.
In 1984, the company purchased a plant at Aurangabad. Gear cutting tools and built up hobs are manufactured in technical collaboration with Klingelnberg Sohne of Germany in this plant.
The company also began manufacturing slitting saws. The expertise for the manufacture of shaving cutters came from Samputensili SpA of Italy in 1999. All these manufacturing units have obtained ISO certification.
