L&T with Paul Wurth bags Rs 12.05 bn contract
Larsen & Toubro (L&T) in consortium with Paul Wurth - Italy, secured contract worth Rs 12.05 billion from Bhushan Steel, for turnkey construction of 2.5 million tons per annum (TPA) blast furnace, for their plant in Veramandali, Orissa.
Out of the total contract value, L&T`s share in the project is pegged at Rs 7.605 billion. In this joint venture (JV) project, L&T`s area of operation will include : detail engineering, supply of indigenous mechanical, electrical and instrumentation works, while Paul Wurth`s will cover basic engineering, supply of proprietary and special equipment as well as technical supervisory services.
The turnkey project is to be completed in 28 months commencing from December 2007.Presently, L&T and Paul Wurth are in the final stages of execution of blast furnace on turnkey basis for Tata Steel at Jamshedpur.
Shares of the company were last trading up Rs 3.65, or 0.14%, at Rs 2,627.00. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE were 58,801. (11.10 am ,Wednesday).
