Moser Baer bets high on solar power biz Optical storage disk maker, Moser Baer`s solar photovoltaic cell manufacturing arm, Moser Baer Photovoltaic, is said to be in the final stages of discussions with a few state governments, to set-up a greenfield manufacturing facility, reports DNA. It is adding capacity to produce 500 MW of solar power by 2010, and expects USD 1.5 billion revenues from the solar energy segment. >Moser Bear currently has capacity for 40 MW and will will double it by the first quarter of the next fiscal. By the turn of the decade, it would have capacity for half a billion giga watt of solar power. It has earmarked a sum of around Rs 1 billion and a large part of it would be met through internal accrual s. In order to push for greater penetration, the company is considering forward integration by entering into solar farms. Shares of the company closed down Rs 3.35, or 1.09%, to Rs 302.65. Total volume of shares traded was 159,173 at the BSE (Friday).
