RBI allows FIIs to invest in Dhanalakshmi Bank

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) notified that, no further purchases of equity shares of the Dhanalakshmi Bank should be made on behalf of Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) under Portfolio Investment Scheme (PIS) through stock exchanges in India without obtaining the prior permission from the central bank. >

The RBI stated that, FII investments of Dhanalakshmi Bank reached 22 per cent of its paid up capital.

Shares of the company last closed down Rs 3.25 , or 4.1%, to Rs 76. The total volume of shares traded were 468,459 at the BSE (Friday ).
