Market off the day`s highs

The 30-share BSE Sensex after losing ground, slipped into the negative terrain in the previous trading session. Currently, the benchmark index is trading on a flat note.

Select stocks from auto, banking, realty and IT stepped into negative.

The BSE Sensex is trading at 15,595.79, down 8.01 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 4,518.05, marginally up 0.08 points (12.27 p.m).

The BSE Midcap rose 0.35%, while BSE Smallcap rose 0.71%.

 Agarwal said that some consolidation with volatility is possible in the current week.
Further the Agarwal said that 15,555 is the basic support level, if correction continues then it may touch 15,350. Watch RIL and SBI to catch the trend, he added. Out of the total 2,605 shares traded at the BSE, 1,432 advanced, 1,116 declined while 57 remained unchanged.

Amongst the sectoral indices, BSE Auto declined 0.01%, BSE Bankex dipped 0.25%, BSE Realty declined 0.73%, and BSE IT declined 0.86%.

Key gainers at the Sensex include Reliance Energy, which gained 2.14% to touch Rs 901.50, followed by Tata Steel which rose 1.34% at Rs 713.00 and Ambuja Cement rose 1% to Rs 145.90.
Bajaj Auto, ITC, ONGC, Dr Reddy`s, HUL and Cipla were among the other gainers in the Sensex pack.

Laggards at the BSE Sensex were Satyam, which dipped 1.79% at Rs 423.00, TCS declined 1.38% at Rs 1,008.50, and Infosys declined 0.73% at Rs 1,817.00.
Bharti Airtel, Ranbaxy, Wipro, NTPC, Grasim and BHEL also declined.
