Sensex up 28.94 pts; realty and IT stocks decline

The 30-share BSE Sensex having shed some of its points in the previous trading hour, continues to trade in the positive terrain.

Select stocks from auto and banking showed a mixed trend, while realty and IT led the declines.

The BSE Sensex is trading at 15,632.74, up 28.94 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 4,525.20, up 7.2 points (11.02 a.m).

The BSE Midcap rose 0.65%, while BSE Smallcap rose 1.11%.

Sachin Chandsarkar, senior dealer, Karvy Stock Broking, said that now market has taken support at 4,510 level. Market will by and large depend on international cues, added Sachin.
He recommends Po wer Finance Corporation and Infosys Technologies for trading in the next trading session.
 

Out of the total 2,371 shares traded at the BSE, 1,403 advanced, 902 declined while 66 remained unchanged.

Amongst the sectoral indices, BSE Auto rose 0.18%, BSE Bankex rose 0.03%, while BSE Realty declined 0.76%, and BSE IT declined 0.49%.

Key gainers amongst the Sensex include Tata Steel, which gained 1.06% to touch Rs 711.00, followed by ITC which rose 1.05% at Rs 182.25 and Bajaj Auto rose 0.89% at Rs 2,398.00.
Cipla, HUL, Reliance Energy, Dr Reddy`s HDFC and Reliance Industries also moved up.

Laggards at the BSE Sensex were TCS which dipped 1.23% at Rs 1,010.00, Satyam, declined 1.09% at Rs 426.00, and Bharti Airtel declined 0.82% at Rs 824.00.
Infosys, Ranbaxy, BHEL, Tata Motors and NTPC also declined.
