Carrefour revives India plans, in talks with DLF
Carrefour, the world’s second largest retailer, has resumed talks for an India foray and real estate major DLF seems to be its first choice right now. However, the French retail major is finding it difficult to convince Indian partners to adhere to its ‘rigid’ terms and conditions for a concrete arrangement. Apparently, Carrefour, like Wal-Mart, is looking for a strong partner with considerable political clout. But unlike Wal-Mart, it does not want to experiment too much with its entry model.
