European markets at their four year highs

European markets jumped the highest in more than four years following the gains in the US and Asian markets after US Federal Reserve reduced the interest rates by 50 bps in a bid to prevent economy from further downfall.

UBS, Deutsche Bank and Lloyds TSB advanced the most among financial stocks in Europe.

The region`s largest refiner Total and largest mining company BHP Billiton jumped after crude oil crossed USD 82 a barrel and copper prices rises.

UK`s FTSE 100 gained 208.00 points, or 3.31%, to trade at 6,491.30.

French benchmark index, CAC 40, gained 194.86 points, or 3.51%, to trade at 5,744.21.

Germany`s DAX gained 187.89 points, or 2.48%, to trade at 7,763.10.

Italy`s MILAN MIB30 gained 987.00 points, or 2.51%, to trade at 40,368.00.
