United Breweries board consider rights issue A meeting of the board of directors of United Breweries(Q, N,C,F)* style=”mso-spacerun: yes”> will be held on Sep. 28, 2007, to consider the proposal to issue further equity shares to existing shareholders on `rights` basis.

United Breweries emerged out of demerger of the beer business from the erstwhile United Breweries, which was then renamed United Breweries Holdings. United Breweries has an association with brewing over the last five decades and commands a market share of over 50%.
Shares of the company gained Rs 30.05, or 9.16%, to trade at Rs 358.00. The total volume of shares traded was 81,281 at the BSE.(12.42 p.m ,Friday ).
