Sun TV & Kalaignar TV conflict looks eternal

The fight between Sun TV and Kalaignar TV seems to be never ending, reports NDTV.

Sun network owned by the Maran brothers grand nephews of TN CM Karunanidhi have launched their no frills DTH. It is priced at a competitive price of Rs 75 a month, the dish and the set top box technically come free.
The stunning offer comes just a week after the launch of Karunanidhi`s family controlled Kalaignar TV, following a rift between both families.

>Cable operators were unhappy with this new development asserting that the price war will affect them badly.

The former union IT minister advocated the new pricing saying that it was an inescapable competitive environment.
Eventually, its the customers who have to be prepared to deal with this price war.

Shares of the company were last trading up Rs 2.40, or 0.68%, at Rs 355.80. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE was 70,756.( Friday)
