Kopran swings to loss for Jun`07 qtr Kopran swung to a loss for the quarter ended June 2007. During the quarter, the company saw a loss of Rs 152.5 million as compared with a profit of Rs 0.20 million in the corresponding quarter last year.
Net sales for the quarter declined 41.28% to Rs 178.10 million from Rs 303.30 million for the corresponding quarter last fiscal. Total income for the quarter dipped 41.86% to Rs 181.1 million from Rs 311.5 million in the same quarter a year ago. The loss per share (EPS) of the company stood at Rs 4.58 in the quarter ended June 2007. The company is engaged in healthcare activities like diagnostics, treatment, >production of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and finished dosage forms, bio-technology, distribution of sophisticated medical electronic equipments. The product range of the company includes OTC products like Smyle sore throat reliever, Smyle mouth ulcer gel, Smyle nasal inhaler, Smyle herbal toothpaste, finished dosage forms (antibiotics/antibacterials) like sparfloxacin tablets 200 mg, ampicillin capsules 250 mg/500 mg and APIs like anti-hypertensives, macrolides, cephalosporins.
