Nirma declares 6% dividend The members of Nirma, (Q, N,C,F)* at the annual general meeting (AGM) held on Sep. 25, 2007, declared dividend of 6% on preference shares. The company anno>unced a steep drop of 45% in net profit for the quarter ended June 2007. During the quarter, the company experienced fall in profit to Rs 411.00 million from Rs 747.30 million in the same quarter last year. Net sales for the quarter rose 15.91% to Rs 6,091.70 million compared with the corresponding quarter, a year ago. Shares of the company closed down Rs 0.30, or 0.18%, at Rs 163.00. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE was 9,601. (Tuesday)
