Vikash Metal registers project under UNFCCC

Vikash Metal & Power informed that, waste heat recovery based captive power plant of the company, registered under CMD Project with UNFCCC.

The captive power plant is based on waste heat recovery module whereby flue gas released by the sponge iron kilns is used to generate steam in the boiler thereby replacing fossil fuel for generating power.

>It will involve reduction of 55,000 metric tons of CO2 equivalent per annum, which will lead to a substantial revenue inflow by selling CER credits (Certified emission reduction), which will accrue to the company for a period of 10 years.

Shares of the company gained Rs 0.90, or 4.59%, to Rs 20.5. The total volume of shares traded were 175,942 at the BSE.(11.27 am,Tuesday).
