European markets open positive

European markets opened positive on Thursday (Sep. 27) on speculation that the U.S. home sales report which is expected today, will be positive.

Royal DSM gained after the world`s biggest maker of vitamins raised its profit forecast for the year. Nordea Bank surged after reports emerged that SEB AB plans to acquire 19.9% stake in the bank. China Telecom jumped on report that the country`s phone industry will come under review.UK`s index FTSE 100, gained 55.10 points, or 0.86%, to trade at 6,488.10. French benchmark index, CAC 40, gained 37.70 points, or 0.66%, to trade at 5,728.47.

Germany`s index DAX gained 69.33 points, or 0.89%, to trade at 7,873.48.Italy`s MILAN MIB30 gained 255.00 points, or 0.64%, to trade at 40,326.00. (2.40 p.m, IST)
