Satyam computer opens solution center in Brisbane Hyderabad-based, Satyam Computer (Q, N,C,F)* Services announced the launch of a new solutions center in Brisbane`s Central Business District today, Sep. 27, 2007. The center currently employs 40 professionals and expects to employ another 50 professionals in the near future. >The facility will support Queensland-based clients across various IT platforms with an emphasis on enterprise application-based solutions. The facility reflects the company`s commitment to the Australian market (the company has development centers in Melbourne and recently launched a regional solutions hub in North Sydney) as well as its continuous efforts to bolster its Virtual Global Delivery Model. B Rama Raju, co-founder & MD of the company said that, the company is already well established in Australia and the announcement reinforces commitment to collaborate with customers wherever they need the company to transform their organizations. The Brisbane development center will serve local government, finance, and insurance clients, while addressing other sectors, including mining. In addition, a significant proportion of Satyam`s Australian development will also take place at the new facility, primarily the development of future enterprise applications for both Australian and multinational clients. The company has a diverse workforce of over 1,200 associates serving Australia out of which over 800 are based in Australia. The company has laid major emphasis on local employment generation and over 42% of associates in Australia are local nation als.
Shares of the company were last trading up Rs 10.7, or 2.48%, to Rs 442. The total volume of shares traded was 522,552 at the BSE. (1.17 p.m, Thursday)
