Videocon to invest Rs 80 bn in semiconductor, LCD complex

Aurangabad-based Videocon Industries (Q, N,C,F)* plans to erect a semiconductor and LCD complex near Mumbai at an investment of Rs 80 billion, reports Business Line.

The company is said to be in talks with the Maharashtra government for the project.

The project is likely to generate employment to 10,000 people, 50% of which will be directly employed.
It is believed that the company will be exporting about 50% of the product ion.


Shares of the company closed down Rs 3.55, or 0.96%, at Rs 365.60. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE was 15,372. (Wednesday)
