Air Deccan Q4 net loss widens by 57%

Deccan Aviation, which operates the low cost carrier Air Deccan, reported 57% widening of net loss to Rs 1,730.8 million for the fourth quarter ended June 30, as compared to Rs 1,102 million for the corresponding quarter last year, reports Business Standard.
 
For the financial year (July 2006 - June 2007), the company posted a turnover of Rs 21,423.1 million and a net loss of Rs 4195.7 million.  
 
>Key highlights of the year include a fresh issue of shares made to the UB Group constituting 26% of post-issue capital, induction of six new Airbus A-320 and four brand new ATR 72-500 aircraft to its fleet, additional of 85 new flights and 10 new destinations. 
 
The airline claims to have carried 6.8 million passengers in this financial year.  

Shares of the company declined Rs 0.05, or 0.03%, to end at Rs 148.65. The total volume of shares traded was 1,123,464 at the BSE.(Thursday ).
