Videocon applies for telecom licence After real estate Parsvnath, Unitech, Indiabulls Real Estate, Shyam Telelink, Stel, Swan, and host of others, now the country`s consumer durables major Videocon Industries (Q, N,C,F)* applied for telecom licenses, reports Business Line. >Videocon is likely to rope in US-based telecom major as a partner in the proposed telecom venture. The rush for new telecom licenses comes just days after the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) announced that it will not accept new applications for licenses after October 1. The Hindujas and Omaxe are among those who are e xpected to put in their application with the Department of Telecom.
Shares of the company gained Rs 3.85, or 1.05%, at Rs 369.45. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE was 83,979.( Thursday ).
