Media distribution and content firm, Hinduja TMT, announced that the company is considering applying for unified telecom licences under the current policy announced by the government, reports Business Line.

In the last few days, more than 13 companies have applied for the teleocm licenses. Earlier this week, infrastructure major DLF applied for telecom licences. With this, DLF has become the fourth real estate company to do so after India Bulls Real Estate, Unitech and Parsvnath Developers.

The other companies, who have applied for the telecom licences, include Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani-backed Swan and Cheetah Telecom, HFCL and the Ruia-backed BPL etc.

The companies are applying for the licences after the communications minister A Raja announced that DoT would not accept any new applications for mobile licences after October 1 this year.
