Market wide Put call ratio up 21.41%
The market on Monday crossed the pyschological barrier of 19,000. Out of the total 2,838 shares traded at the BSE, 1,899 advanced, 875 declined, while 64 remained unchanged. The BSE benchmark index, Sensex, opened 276 points up and traded bullish throughout the day.
While volumes on BSE surged, the volumes on NSE declined. The BSE clocked a turnover of Rs 104.24 billion and the total turnover on NSE amounted to Rs 159.96 billion.
The BSE Sensex closed with a hefty gain of 639.63 points, or 3.47%, at 19,058.67, while the broad-based NSE Nifty gained 242.15 points, or 4.46%, to close at 5,670.40.
On the derivative side at NSE, the Market-wide Put Call ratio advanced 21.41% to 0.96 on Monday from 0.79 on Friday.
Nifty open interest put call ratio was 1.43. Futures open interest advanced 1.26%.
Nifty puts added 1,294,300 numbers in open interest. Nifty calls added 15,900 numbers in open interest.
Hindustan Unilever, Bajaj Auto and BPCL topped the Nifty most delivered chart, while REL, RPL and Tata Steel topped the Nifty least delivered chart.
