Market wide Put call ratio up 63.36%

The markets on Wednesday traded negative throughout the day. Out of the total 2,724 shares traded at the BSE, 922 advanced, 1757 declined, while 45 remained unchanged.

Volumes on both BSE and NSE surged. The BSE clocked a turnover of Rs 103.08 billion and the total turnover on NSE amounted to Rs 240.62 billion.

The BSE Sensex after hitting a lower circuit in the opening sessions of trade closed with a hefty loss of 336.04 points, or 1.76%, at 18,715.82, while the broad-based NSE Nifty lost 108.75 points, or 1.92%, to close at 5,559.30.

On the derivative side at NSE, the Market-wide Put Call ratio gained 63.36%, to 1.14 on Wednesday from 0.70 on Thursday.

Nifty open interest put call ratio was 1.36. Futures open interest declined 4.61%.

Nifty puts declined 254,050 numbers in open interest. Nifty calls added 563,450 numbers in open interest.

Dr. Reddy, Grasim and Ambuja Cement topped the Nifty most delivered chart, while MTNL, SAIL and RPL topped the Nifty least delivered chart.
