DS Kulkarni net up 83% in Q2

D S Kulkarni Developers reported a 82.92% jump in net profit at Rs 152.58 million for the quarter ended September 2007, compared with Rs 83.41 million for the same quarter, last year.

Net sales rose 3.56 times to Rs 896.52 million in the quarter from Rs 251.53 million in the same quarter, a year ago.

Total income stood at Rs 907.74 million for the quarter ended September 2007 where as the same was at Rs 251.53 million for the same quarter, last year.

The diluted earnings per share stood at Rs 6.94 for the quarter ended September 2007.  

Incorporated in 1991, DS Kulkarni is engaged in the business of real estate development. The company has major presence in Pune and focuses primarily on housing construction. It has executed bulk of their projects in Pune and going forward is also expected to execute a significant chunk of their projects there. Its 70% customers are NRIs from the USA, UK, Dubai, Bahrain, Kuwait, Kenya and Australia.

DSKDL has a very strong understanding of the Pune market and in Hyderabad, where they are undertaking development of 400 acres of land and then sale of properties, which is awaiting regulatory approval.

Shares of the company gained Rs 0.65, or 0.26% to end at Rs 245.95. The total volume of shares traded was 6,084 at the BSE.(Thursday).
