Market wide Put-call ratio down 6.51%
The market closed on a strong note on Thursday. The overall market breadth was positive, around 56.6% of shares advanced on BSE and 55.2% of shares advanced on NSE. Out of the total 2,800 shares traded at the BSE, 1,586 advanced, 1,144 declined, while 70 remained unchanged. The 30-share benchmark index, Sensex, opened at 18,519.23.
Volumes on BSE fell and NSE rose on Thursday. The BSE clocked a turnover of Rs 84.5 billion and the total turnover on NSE amounted to Rs 234.7 billion.
The BSE Sensex closed with a hefty gain of 257.98 points, or 1.39%, at 18,770.89, while the broad-based NSE Nifty gained 72.8 points, or 1.32%, to close at 5,568.95
On the derivative side at NSE, the Market-wide Put Call ratio declined 6.51%, to 0.58 on Thursday from 0.63 on Wednesday.
Nifty open interest put call ratio was 1.23. Futures open interest gained 4.30%.
Nifty puts added 3,177,550 numbers in open interest. Nifty calls added 1,462,500 numbers in open interest.
Bharati Airtel, Bajaj Auto and GAIL topped the Nifty most delivered chart, while Suzlon, Tata steel and REL topped the Nifty least delivered chart
