Reliance Power, L&T & Lanco bid for Talwandi Sabo project

Reliance Power, Larsen & Toubro and Lanco Infratech are among the 10 companies that have bid for setting up the 2,000 mw coal-based thermal power project at Talwandi Sabo in Punjab.

Essar Power, Sterlite Industries, Torrent Power, GVK Power & Infrastructure, Jindal Steel & Power, Devona Thermal Power & Infrastructure of Indiabulls and Gujarat Paguthan Energy Corp are the others that have placed bids against request for qualification invited by Punjab State Electricity Board, industry sources said on Monday.

NTPC, Tata Power, Nagarjuna Construction, CESC, Suez Energy, Chambal Infrastructure Ventures, Adani Enterprises, Bilt Power, Siti Energy, and CLP, which were understood to have evinced interest in the project during the initial stages, however, did not submit bids.

The project is being awarded on tariff-based competitive bidding on the lines of the 4,000 mw ultra mega power projects.
